"THE LOVE OF FISHING" FISHING TOURNAMENT

TOURNAMANT SERIES INFORMATION

 FishingForHipHop Tournament targets youth and adults of all ages to become involved in fishing and the outdoors. 


This exciting event will be held Feb 17, 2019 on West Point Lake. Meeting and Weigh-In is at Horace King Park. "You Are Allowed To Fish The Entire West Point Lake" as long as you report back to Horace King Park. Only Crappies, Hybrid StripBass & Spotted Bass will be scored for prizes.


Participation & Eligibility: 

This Tournament is open to all individuals to Fish from Land Only. 

"No Boats Allowed" in tournament.

Only Crappies, Hybrid StripBass & Spotted Bass will be scored for prizes.

FishingForHipHop Tournament Fee of $25 is required to participate. 


Deadline:

Registration fee/payment of $25 is allowed until 9am on the day of Tournament / Feb 17, 2019. Participants may register at the event. Participants under age of 18 need a (Waiver) granted by Parent or Guardian. 


Winner & Prizes: 

Winner will be based on "The Most Fish Caught" and "The Heaviest Fish Caught" from West Point Lake on 2/17/2019 by weigh-in time assigned by tournament director.


Rules: 

These rules shall remain unchanged throughout the tournament series. Interpretation and enforcement of FishingForHipHop rules shall be left exclusively to the tournament director.

 The Tournament director may impose sanctions as deemed appropriate for rule infractions without limitation e.g., disqualification, weigh deduction penalties, forfeiture of prizes and or entry fee and prohibition from participation in subsequent tournaments. Tournament Director's decisions are final in all matters that are concerning FishingForHipHop Tournaments. All federal, state, local and water body authority laws and rules must be obeyed at all times and will supersede FishingForHipHop rules when in conflict.


Liability Waiver: 

Upon entering any FishingForHipHop Tournament, contestants release FISHINGFORHIPHOP officials and sponsors from liability of accidents, losses or thefts. Contestants are responsible for knowing and understanding these rules and signing "Tournament Waiver". 

Contestants will receive I.D. numbers according to order of registrants received. Official tournament hours will be announced on the morning of the event. Based on Weather and Registered Participants!


Scoring Fish: 

Assistance is allowed ONLY for participants under the age of 15, tying on or removal of lures, and of the fish. Each participant may weigh-in five (5) fish, a minimum of 14 inches in length, measured on a flat board with mouth closed and tail compressed. Any contestant weighing-in a fish shorter than the legal tournament length will not qualify for prize.  A dead Big Fish  will be penalized 1/2 pound due to this being a separate prize. Only Crappies, Hybrid StripBass & Spotted Bass will be scored. Fish will be weighed and measured to determine winner. Ties for prizes will be settled by the largest Fish between tied contestants.  Any contestants’ weight will not be counted, if not checked-in by the designated check-in time.


Tackle and Equipment: 

Intentional snagging of fish will not be allowed. Artificial lures and Live Bait is permitted. Liquid and aerosol attractants are allowed. The use of underwater cameras is not allowed during competition.


Permitted Fishing Waters: 

No Boats, Bank or Wade fishing allowed. No fishing is allowed within 5 yards of another tournament angler without mutual consent. Hole sitting, or having a non-contestant sit on a hole for you shall not be tolerated. West Point Lake waters are the only waters to be fished during the tournament. Contestants can leave Horace King Park to fish around the lake and return to fish. Only fish caught by the contestant will be counted and allowed to enter for prizes. You can not use fish given to you by other fishermen to win any prize. No cast nets are allowed. 

Restricting natural movement of fish by any means such as but not limited to: use of nets, tanks or dams will result in immediate disqualification. Restricting access to waters normally accessible to anglers by any means such as but not limited to: felling of trees or placement of obstructions will result in disqualification.

1 Fish = $1 ($1 per Fish) For Every Fish You Catch, Where asking you to Donate $1 per Fish caught to HELP us purchase a new WheelChair for someone with Multiple Sclerosis.


Fishing For Multiple Sclerosis is designed to raise the awareness of MS and to provide wheelchairs to individuals who can’t afford to purchase them. 
Each Wheelchair cost: $2200 to $2500. 

Our goal is to purchase 2 WheelChairs by 4/1/2019.

This Fishing Tournament will benefit our Fishing For Multiple Sclerosis Campaign which is designed to help those affect with Multiple Sclerosis and to purchase New WheelChairs for those in need.
